No excitement at Sotheby’s contemporary auction in London this week. Prices came very much at estimates. The positive news is that 80% of the lots offered went sold. As I’ve been saying the art market is a buyer’s market still. Don’t rush !!!
The winners of the week were Andreas Gursky and Gerhard Richter. Both had works that sold for twice the estimated price.
