South African Art Gallery May Be Censored by the Government

It is amazing that in the year 2012, a sovereign democracy censors its art production. At issue is “The Spear”, by Brett Murray (a white man), showing Lenin, but with Zuma’s face, and with his penis visible. Goodman Gallery (is a leading gallery in South Africa) has been around for 50 years and has played an important role against apartheid. Haven’t South Africans learned how to respect freedom of expression? The vandal (a white man) accuses the painter of racism. All the arguments on this issue took racial connotation, very sad.

Check the vandal’s interview.
